27 Best Credit Cards In India 2022 Reviews

I am a credit card freak. I often do research on credit cards and keep an eye on the best available credit cards in India.

Many people avoid credit cards because they feel that they will spend more if they start using one. But you will be amazed by the money saving potential and benefits that some credit cards offer.

I am sure after reading this article you would be convinced of the need to apply for atleast one of the mentioned credit cards.

Most Important Point First: Always apply for a credit card directly from the bank website. Don’t apply from the online market place (XYZ-Bazaar) or telecaller, they will keep calling you to sell their other products.

Your financial information and documents are not safe with them.

I will help you choose the right card for your needs. You can ask your questions in the comments.

Honest Disclaimer: Some of the links in this article are obtained in partnership with banking networks. You will be redirected to the bank’s website. I may earn a small referral income if your credit card gets approved (at no extra cost to you).

My purpose is to provide you with genuine information so that you can get fast approval of the best credit card.

I interact with a lot of people, who ask me for advice on applying for a credit card.

  • The first category is first time applicants, who need an all-rounder credit card because either they have just started a new job or are working in a government organization.
  • The second category of people who want to apply for a second credit card, to avail benefits on shopping, fuel and travel.
  • The third and last category of people want to apply for premium credit cards even if that means annual fees of 5000 rupees or more.

Then Apply for 3 Credit Cards

  1. Standard Chartered Manhattan for 5% cashback on grocery stores
  2. Amex Membership Reward for bonus points, loading money to Paytm and redeeming points for Amazon vouchers & hotel vouchers
  3. Amex Travel Platinum for Travel benefits

For fuel benefits, go with SC Super Value Titanium (5% cashback)

  1. This article is quite informative. I had one question.
Every credit card gives some points on spends and we can get that information from various websites.
What I wanted to know was how many Rupees / Paisa is 1 point worth for various credit cards at the time of redemption.
If you have any data to share it will be immensely helpful.
    Thanks.

  6. Hey Pradeep,

    Thanks for your reviews.

I get around 40K benefits (mostly airline tickets) on my Amex Platinum Travel card on the milestone of 4 lakhs spending in a year. Now, I’m looking for a Visa/Mastercard for remaining spends. HDFC doesn’t want to give me Regalia because there was some issue 10 years ago while closing one of their cards. Please suggest what is a good card if the spend is around 2 lakhs or more.

  22. Hi Pardeep

I think you should write one article with regards to money added via credit card in e-wallets (Only add). 1. Are we eligible for any rewards for this money add in wallets? (My HDFC CC statements always adjust rewards points because I add money regularly in paytm) 2. Is it considered as spending? (If this money add in e-wallets considered as spending then any body can just add 40k-50 k in paytm and then withdraw to bank and pay in credit card. Means my whole year spending done in just one month.) 3. Best CC for e-wallets money add?
It would be really help full to all of us if you can write something on it.

    • I use HDFC Regalia for international transactions because it has 2% forex charges as compared to 3.5% charged by most of credit cards.

There are a very few cards which gives you 2% currency conversion, apart from Regalia you can get Standard Chartered Ultimate Credit Card.

      • They wouldn’t resolve dispute on time. They will play games of taking the disputed amount out of your outstanding balance and then add it back in your next statement. If you notice and ask why did you put it back, Customer service agent will tell you deduct the amount and pay for the rest. In next statement you will see finance changes put on top of that outstanding amount and you will be asked to pay not only disputed amount but also finance charges which would be steep. Pl don’t apply for this card.

  30. Hi,

I’m currently holding HDFC Regalia CC. Planning to get StanC ULTIMATE CC. Do you have any review on the ULTIMATE credit card?

    Thanks,
    Preetish
